About

Built for Australians who want to understand risk before they meet it.

Leveraged Advice is an education-first publication. It explains leverage, margin calls and financial history without pretending to know your goals, income, debts, tax situation or risk tolerance.

Why the site exists

Australia has a strong investing culture. Property, shares, superannuation, ETFs, derivatives and trading platforms are part of the national conversation. Yet leverage is often discussed like a shortcut, not a mechanical system with rules, costs and consequences.

This site exists to make those mechanics visible. When people understand exposure, collateral, maintenance margin, volatility and liquidity, they can ask better questions before making any decision.

Editorial principles

  • Education over prediction.
  • Risk mechanics over hype.
  • Historical context over hero worship.
  • Australian English and Australian market context.
  • No personal financial advice.

What we cover

Leverage is everywhere. We map the terrain.

Market leverage

CFDs, options, futures, margin lending and other products where exposure can exceed cash committed.

Property leverage

How mortgages can magnify property gains and losses, especially when rates, rents and valuations change.

Historical cycles

From speculative bubbles to hedge fund failures, history shows what happens when confidence meets borrowed money.

Clear boundary

Leveraged Advice does not recommend products, strategies, brokers, securities or trades. The purpose is education. If you need advice that considers your personal circumstances, speak with a properly licensed financial adviser.
